Abstract
Vocabulary is the basic unit of a language and the basis of language learning. How to extend vocabulary effectively and memorize vocabulary has been bothering a large number of English learners. This essay will focus on the comprehension of English vocabulary and the effective ways of extending English vocabulary so as to inspire English learners to use effective strategies to extend vocabulary rather than memorizing words stereotypically.
